Holy Cross Women's Golf Places Second At Williams Fall Classic

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Freshman Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) shot a 19-over par 161 over two rounds to lead the Holy Cross women's golf team to a second place finish at the Williams Fall Classic, played on Saturday and Sunday at the Taconic Golf Club. The Crusaders finished with a team total of 667 strokes, at 99-over par. Wellesley won the team title with a 91-over par 659, while Tory MacNeil of Elmira was the individual medalist at nine-over par (151 strokes).
Following Doherty, senior Amy Lussier (Milton, Mass.) finished seventh as an individual with 162 strokes. Freshman Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) came in 24th with a 171, followed by senior Ellen Lamson (South Royalton, Vt.) in 28th place with 173 strokes.
The Crusaders return to action on Oct. 27 and 28, when they will take part in the Sacred Heart Invitational.
