SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's golf team tied for second place out of 15 teams at the Mount Holyoke Invitational at the Orchards Golf Club. Freshman Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) led the Crusaders as she tied for eighth place with a two-round score of 163. Holy Cross finished the two-day tournament tied with Hartford with a total of 666, while Boston University won the event with a 663.
Senior Amy Lussier (Milton, Mass.) had the second best score for the Crusaders with a 167 which was good enough for a tie for 20th place, while senior Ellen Lamson (South Royalton, Vt.) and freshman Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) each had a 168 for a tie for 23rd.
The Crusaders return to action on October 6-7, when they travel to Williamstown, Mass., to compete at the Williams Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club.
