Holy Cross Women's Golf Places Ninth At Jack Leaman Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Sophomore Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) posted a two-round total of 173, as the Holy Cross women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Jack Leaman Invitational. Sunday's round was played at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, while Saturday's competition took place at the Cherry Hill Golf Course in Amherst. Doherty finished in 17th place overall as an individual, as the Crusaders concluded the tournament with a team total of 738 strokes. Amherst claimed the team title with 657 strokes, while Hayley Milbourn of Amherst was the individual medalist with a two-round total of 154.

Following Doherty, sophomore Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) claimed 23rd place with a two-round total of 177. Sophomore Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass.) had the third-best score of the weekend for the Crusaders, finishing in 40th place with 191 strokes over two rounds.

The 2008-2009 season is now complete for Holy Cross.
