NINETY SIX, S.C. - The Holy Cross women's golf team stands in eighth place after day one of the three-day Big South Conference Championship, which is being held at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. The Crusaders finished the day with a total of 368 strokes. Coastal Carolina currently leads the event with 315 strokes through the first day.
Sophomore Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) led the Crusaders with a round of 85, and is currently tied for 27th place. Sophomore Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) had the second-best round for the Crusaders with an 88 and is tied for 35th place. Freshman Ellie Deluca (New Caanan, Conn.) shot a 95, sophomore Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass.) had a 100 and sophomore Megan McCarthy (Beverly, Mass.) shot a 103. Aruka Felgueroso of Coastal Carolina had the top individual score of the day with a 73.
The Big South Championship continues on Tuesday morning, and will conclude on Wednesday.
