Holy Cross Finishes Eighth At 2007 Big South Championship

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Holy Cross women's golf team finished in eighth place at the 2007 Big South Conference Championship, held at the Coosaw Creek Country Club. Junior Amy Lussier (Milton, Mass.) led the Crusaders, shooting an 85 in the third round, and finished in 31st place overall with a three-day score of 261. The Crusaders finished the day with 385 strokes, and had a three-day score of 1173. Birmingham Southern won the event with a three-day total of 897, while Jill Stupiansky of Birmingham Southern was the individual medalist with 218 strokes over three rounds.
Junior Ellen Lamson (South Royalton, Vt.) had a 91 in the final round to finish in 34th place overall with a three-day total of 285 strokes. Senior Cynthia Sanossian (Scarsdale, N.Y.) ended the tournament in 35th place overall, while sophomore Elisabeth Sexton (Walpole, Mass.) was 37th and sophomore Alicia Molt (Northbridge, Mass.) came in 38th.
The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, when they will compete at the Jack Leaman Invitational. On Saturday, the competition is in Amherst, Mass., while on Sunday it is in South Hadley, Mass.
