NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Sophomore Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) shot a two-round total of 172, as the Holy Cross women's golf team finished in fourth place in the Fairfield Invitational, held at the Crown Park Golf Club. Doherty finished in ninth place overall as an individual, as the Crusaders concluded the tournament with a team total of 727 strokes. Fairfield claimed the team title with 659 strokes, while Honesty Biggers of South Carolina State was the individual medalist with a two-round total of 152.
Following Doherty, sophomore Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass.) placed 14th with 178 strokes, and sophomore Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) came in 19th with 183 strokes. Freshman Ellie Deluca (New Caanan, Conn.) finished the weekend in 20th place with a 194, while senior Elisabeth Sexton (Walpole, Mass.) placed 22nd with a 203.
Holy Cross returns to action when it takes part in the Big South Conference Championship in Ninety Six, S.C., from April 13-15.
