Women's Golf Places Ninth At 2012 Big South Championship
NINETY SIX, S.C. – The Holy Cross women's golf team finished the 2012 Big South Championship in ninth place, totaling 1,174 strokes in the three-day event at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. Campbell took home the 2012 championship title, finishing with a three-day tally of 890 strokes as four golfers finished within the top-10 individually. Freshman Morgan Powers (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished first for the Crusaders over the three days, finishing in 46th place individually.
Following Powers, senior Ellie Deluca (New Canaan, Conn.) finished in 47th with 274 strokes. Junior Kelly Reagan (Mendota Heights, Minn.) finished 48th with a 313 while seniors Lauren McCarthy (Beverly, Mass.) and Melissa Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.) rounded out the team's action, finishing in 49th and 50th place respectively. Coastal Carolina's Brittany Henderson took home top individual honors, marking a 214 for par for course after the final day of action.
The Crusaders conclude the 2012-2012 season at the Jack Leaman Championship, held from April 21-22. The event will be held at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Amherst, Mass.
