Women's Golf Earns Eighth Place Finish At Sacred Heart Fall Classic

MILFORD, Conn. The Holy Cross women's golf team placed eighth out of eight teams with a total two-day score of 786 at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic, held at the Great River Golf Course. Senior Ellie Deluca (New Canaan, Conn.) led the Crusaders for the first event this season and shot a two-day score 183, placing 26th. Kristyna Paulickova of Boston University won the individual title with a 155.

Freshman Morgan Powers (Glastonbury, Conn.) followed closely behind Deluca with a 184 and finished in 26th place. Freshman Tara Buchanan (Haymarket, Va.) scored a two-round score of 201 while sophomore Mary Beckerman (Avon, Conn.) and senior Melissa Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.) rounded out the team's performances with respective scores of 214 and 233. Tournament host Sacred Heart won the team title with 661 total strokes.

The Crusaders have now completed their 2011 fall slate. The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
