Meghan Doherty Named To The 2011 Big South All-Academic Team
WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior women's golfer Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) has been selected to the 2011 Big South All-Academic team, announced by the league. Doherty earns the honor for the second time in her career as she was also named to the All-Academic team as a sophomore.
Each school is permitted one representative and must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and be of at least sophomore standing (both academically and athletically) to be nominated. Doherty will graduate in May with a degree in History and joins eight other student-athletes, including the Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Bucknell's Minjoo Lee.
The Crusaders compete in the Big South Championship this week, from April 11-13. Tee times are set for 8:00 a.m. every day at the Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety-Six, S.C.
