Women's Golf Places Ninth At Dana Rader Intercollegiate

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Holy Cross women's golf team took ninth place at the 2011 Dana Rader Intercollegiate, held at the Golf Club at Balantyne from Monday through Tuesday. The Crusaders finished the competition with a total of 731 strokes as senior Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) led the team individually with a 26th place finish.

Doherty combined for 175 strokes, marking a 94 on Monday and an 81 on Tuesday. Fellow senior Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) followed with a 180 while junior Ellie Deluca (New Canaan, Conn.) came in third on the team with a 183. Rounding out the scores for Holy Cross was a 194 from senior Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass.) and a 197 by sophomore Kelly Reagan (Mendota Heights, Minn.).

Belmont Abbey won the invitational with 635 strokes and had four players finish within the top 10 individually. Belmont Abbey's Michele Low took home the individual title with 155 strokes.

The Crusaders return to action tomorrow, when they match-up head-to-head with Pfeiffer, the host of the Dana Rader Intercollegiate. Tee time is set for 12:30 p.m. at the Tot Hills Farm Golf Course.
