Women's Golf Places Sixth At Williams Spring Invitational
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Junior Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) shot a season-low round of 76 and finished with a two-round score of 155 to lead the Holy Cross women's golf team to a sixth place finish at the two-day Williams Spring Invitational, held at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass. The Crusaders finished with a total of 668 strokes as Doherty placed in a tie for sixth individually. Amherst won the team title, totaling 626 strokes.
Following Doherty's performance was fellow junior Johanna Gavin's (Hackettstwon, N.J.) two-day total of 165 strokes and a tie for 22nd, while freshman Kelly Reagan (Mendota Heights, Minn.) shot a two-round score of 172 overall, including a season-low round of 85 to place in a tie for 33rd. Junior Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass) and sophomore Ellie Deluca (New Canaan, Conn.) both ended the tournament with a 178 to round out Holy Cross' performances. Amherst's Hayley Milbourn won the individual title with 151 strokes.
The Williams Spring Invitational marks the final time the Holy Cross women's golf team will compete this season, concluding the 2009-2010 slate.
