Women's Golf To Play In Final Competition Of Season

Schedule: Saturday-Sunday, April 24-25, at Williams Spring Invitational, Williamstown, Mass., 12:00 p.m. 

  • The Holy Cross women's golf team will conclude its 2009-2010 slate at the Williams Spring Invitational, held at the Taconic Country Club in Williamstown, Mass. Tee times are set for 12:00 p.m. on both days. This will mark the fifth time in six years that the Crusaders have competed in the tournament.
  • The team last played in the tournament in the 2007-2008 season, finishing in sixth place out of eight teams. Junior Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) led the Crusaders with a two-round score of 174 for a tie for 15th place while junior Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) had the second best score for the Crusaders with a 176 and a 20th place finish.
  • Doherty earned her best individual placement of the season this past weekend at the Jack Leaman Championship. After shooting a season low-round of 80 on the first day, Doherty shot an 82 on Sunday to finish in a tie for third. Her two round score of 162 was also her best two-round strokes total this season.
