Women's Golf Takes Seventh At Jack Leaman Championship

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Junior Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) had a championship-low 80 in the first round to finish in a tie for third place overall as the Holy Cross women's golf team took seventh place at the 2010 Jack Leaman Championship, held at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. The Crusaders finished the competition with a total of 702 strokes as championship host Amhert claimed the team title with 659 strokes.

Junior Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) marked an 82 in the second round to finish with a two-day total of 162 strokes. Fellow junior Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass.) followed Doherty with a two-round score of 178 to finish in a tie for 32nd while Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) finished in a tie for 38th (180 strokes). Rounding out the scores for Holy Cross was a 181 from sophomore Ellie Deluca (New Canaan, Conn.) and a 184 by freshman Kelly Reagan (Mendota Heights, Minn.), finishing in a tie for 43rd and 48th respectively. Amherst's Hayley Milbourn took the individual crown with 158 total strokes.

The Crusaders will complete their spring slate at the Williams Spring Invitational, played on April 24-25. Tee times are set for 12:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at the Taconic Country Club in Williamstown, Mass.
