Worcester, Mass. - Junior goalie Sony Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the ECAC Goaltender of the Week, for her play in two shutout victories last week. Kuhn was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the week for her efforts. This is Kuhn's first career ECAC honor, and was her second career Patriot League honor.
Kuhn posted her seventh and eighth shutouts of the season over the weekend, with a 3-0 win over Lafayette on October 23rd, and a 4-0 non-conference win over Rhode Island the very next day. In the two games, Kuhn combined for 10 saves. She has now posted three shutouts in the past three Holy Cross games, dating back to a 5-0 decision over Georgetown on October 17th.
Kuhn leads the League in both shutouts (8), and save percentage (.829). She also ranks second in goals against average, at a 1.31 clip. Through 16 games this season, Kuhn owns a 10-6 record, 3-2 in league play.
The Crusaders game against Brown University, originally scheduled for tonight at 5:00 p.m., has been pushed back to Tuesday, November 2nd at 5:00 p.m. They next take the field on Sunday, October 31 for a 1:00 p.m. match-up at Dartmouth.
