Kuhn Named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week

Worcester, Mass. - Junior goalkeeper Sony Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for her performances from September 27- October 3rd, in which the Holy Cross field hockey team went 1-1-0. This is the first League award in Kuhn's career.
On Wednesday, September 29th , Kuhn made 9 saves in a valiant effort against nationally-ranked (#12) Boston College, in which Holy Cross lost 3-2 down the stretch. Kuhn and the Crusaders came back on Saturday, October 2nd to win their first Patriot League game of the season in a 2-0 victory over Lehigh. Kuhn had a stellar performance in the crease turning back 10 Mountain Hawk shots to record her 4th shutout of the year.
Kuhn averaged a .875 save percentage on the week, with a total of 19 saves.
In 9 games this season, Kuhn has a league-leading .840 save percentage. Her 4 shutouts are also tops in the conference. She also holds a 1.33 goals-against average.
The Crusaders next take the field on Wednesday, October 6th when they travel to Fairfield University for a 4p.m. contest.
