WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior midfielder Carolyn Connelly (Greenland, N.H.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 2-8. Connelly scored her second goal of the season on Saturday, as the Holy Cross field hockey came out victorious in its only game of the week.
In Saturday's 2-0 win at Colgate, Connelly netted the game-winning goal at the 8:15-mark of the first half off an assist by senior midfielder Laura Cohen (Summit, N.J.), giving the Crusaders a 1-0 lead at the time. On the season, Connelly has now scored five points on two goals and one assist. Over the course of her career at Holy Cross, she has four goals and two assists for 10 points.
The Crusaders (9-3 overall, 2-0 Patriot League) will put their seven-game winning streak on the line later this afternoon, when they travel to Dartmouth for a 5:00 p.m. game.
