WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) has been named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for the third successive time while junior Sara O'Coin (Worcester, Mass.) was named the Offensive Player of the Week for their performances in wins against Lafayette and Yale.
Singleton led the Crusaders to their sixth consecutive win after recording 10 stops and allowing just two goals for a .833 save percentage on the week. The six wins ties for the all-time second longest streak in a season for Holy Cross field hockey. In the past six wins Singleton allowed just five goals and for the season, she is first in the Patriot League in goals against average (1.24) and save percentage (.782).
O'Coin totaled seven points this week with a hat trick against Yale, tying a Patriot League season-high for goals in a game, and added an assist versus Lafayette. She now leads Holy Cross with 26 points including nine goals and eight assists. O'Coin ranks second in points (26), third in goals (nine) and tied for first in assists (eight) in the Patriot League.
The Crusaders (8-3 overall, 1-0 Patriot League) travel to Colgate on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. for their second league game.
