WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Kristin Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from September 15-21. Schulz recorded two goals and two assists last week, as the Holy Cross field hockey team split a pair of games against New Hampshire (4-3 overtime loss) and Siena (3-1 victory).
In Wednesday night's game against New Hampshire, Schulz scored a goal at the 23:36-mark to tie the score at 1-1. She later added an assist on a goal by sophomore Alanna Sikorski (Glen Gardner, N.J.) which put the Crusaders up 3-1, before the Wildcats came back to win.
On Sunday at Siena, Schulz scored an unassisted goal at the 18:49-mark to give Holy Cross a 1-0 lead. Later in the game, after the Saints had tied the score at 1-1, she assisted on the game-winning goal by junior Courtney Callahan (Acton, Mass.)
Overall this season, Schulz now leads the team in scoring with eight points on three goals and two assists. Over the course of her Holy Cross career, she has totaled nine goals and six assists for 24 points.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday, Sept. 26, when they play host to Quinnipiac at 7:00 p.m.
