Two Field Hockey Players Receive Patriot League Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Laura Cohen (Summit, N.J.) has been named the Patriot League Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) has been named the Patriot League Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week, for competition from September 11-17. Cohen totaled four goals and one assist while Singleton did not allow a single goal in 105:00 minutes of play.

In Saturday's 10-2 victory over Siena, Cohen scored three goals and tied the record for the second highest number of goals scored in a game for Holy Cross. Singleton played the first half of the game in goal and did not allow the Saints to score.

Sunday Cohen added another goal and assist as the Crusaders beat Crimson, 3-0. Singleton had three saves and recorded her second shutout of the season, and third of her career.

Cohen is second on the team with five goals and one assist. She currently has 20 career goals and eight assists in 56 games.

Singleton has played 395:34 minutes this year and maintains a .727 save percentage.

The Crusaders (4-3 overall) return to action on Thursday, Sept. 21, when they host New Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. They go on the road Saturday to play Fairfield at 1:00 p.m.
