HC Field Hockey Announces 2006 Incoming Class

April 26, 2006

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross head field hockey coach Meg Galligan announced the incoming class for the 2006 Crusader squad this week. Seven student-athletes will join the Holy Cross program for the 2006-2007 academic year.

"We are very excited about the incoming class," said Galligan. "They all signed Early Decision and are excited to become part of our program. This class will add depth and versatility to all positions from the front line to our defense, including the goalkeeper position. It is a very talented group of student-athletes and will help make 2006 a very exciting season."

Holy Cross will return eight of its 11 starters from a year ago and will be led by seniors Laura Cohen (Summit, N.J./Kent Place), Tara Welch (New Boston, N.H./Goffstown), and Susie Whelan (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro). The Crusaders finished the 2005 season as Patriot League Tournament runners-up, while compiling an overall record of 10-10 (3-2 Patriot League).
