Schulz, Walther Named To NFHCA Academic Squad

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Kristin Schulz (Fairfield, Conn.) and freshman Kirsten Walther (Landenberg, Pa.) were named to the 2008 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad.  Holy Cross was also one of the 68 national teams to be recognized for having a combined 3.0 GPA or higher.

Schulz started all 18 games this season, leading the Crusaders in scoring with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. She finished the year with 26 interceptions and 56 tackles. Schulz ends her career with 16 goals and nine assists for 41 points and 42 interceptions and 86 tackles.

Walther made 10 appearances and two starts in her first season with the Crusaders. She totaled eight tackles, seven interceptions and one defensive save during the 2008 season.
