Hawk Named Assistant Field Hockey Coach

Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross Athletic Director Richard M. Regan, Jr. announced today that Ali Hawk has been named assistant field hockey coach. A member of the Patriot League All-Decade Team and the 1998 Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year, the former Ali Roberts, will join head coach Meg Galligan on the Holy Cross staff for the 2005 season.

Hawk graduated from Holy Cross in 1999 and was a four-year letterwinner with the Crusaders. As a junior, she was the Patriot League's top scorer and a Second Team All-League selection. She was also named to the Regional All-American Second Team and was selected to the National Academic Squad.

Her senior year she served as team captain and was the 1998 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year. A First Team All-League selection, she also earned Patriot League Tournament MVP honors and was a First Team Regional All-American pick. Hawk led the Patriot League in scoring for the second straight season and earned a Top 10 national ranking in goals scored. In addition, Hawk was selected as the team MVP and totaled more than 100 points throughout her career. She was also named to the Division I North/South Senior All-Star Team.

During her time at Holy Cross, Hawk led her teams to two Patriot League Tournament titles.

Originally from Argentina, Hawk earned a degree in History with a concentration in Latin American Studies from Holy Cross in 1999. In 2002, she earned a master's degree in Latin American Studies and Caribbean Studies from Indiana University, where she also served as team manager for the field hockey team.
