WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross field hockey team dropped a 1-0 decision to Lafayette in Patriot League action this afternoon at the Hart Turf Field. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 4-7 (0-2 Patriot League) while the Leopards improve to 9-5 (2-0 Patriot League).
In the first half, at the 20:30 mark, Lafayette's Maggie Condon scored the game-winning goal as her shot rebounded off a Crusader defender and into the top left corner of the goal cage. This afternoon's goal marks Condon's 12th goal of the season and sixth game-winner.
Senior goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) had nine saves for Holy Cross while the Leopards' Kelsey Andersen picked up her third shutout of the season.
The Holy Cross field hockey team returns to action on Sunday, October 12, at 1:00 p.m., hosting Columbia.
