HANOVER, N.H. - Eli Skovron (Exeter, N.H.) and Tara Welch (New Boston, N.H.) scored one goal each as the Holy Cross field hockey team grabbed their eighth consecutive win against Dartmouth, 2-1, in overtime Monday.
Junior Skovron put away a goal from Laura Cohen (Summit, N.J.) at 63:55 to knot the game at one after Dartmouth scored 20 minutes earlier.
As the 70 minutes of regulation time came to an end the game remained tied. In overtime, Senior Welch scored the game-winning goal unassisted for the Crusaders at 79:20. This was Welch's 12th goal of the season and her 52nd goal of her career, a school record-high.
With the win, the Crusaders make a new school record-high for consecutive wins in a season. Holy Cross improves to 10-3 overall while Dartmouth drops to 3-7 on the season.
The Crusaders are back in league action Saturday when they travel to play Lehigh at 1:00 p.m.
