Field Hockey Drops 2-0 Decision to #16 Boston College
Oct. 2, 2005
Worcester, Mass. - Kristen Madden scored a goal and added an assist to lead the #16 Boston College field hockey team to a 2-0 win over Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon. Holy Cross falls to 5-6 overall, while the Eagles improve to 7-3 on the season.
The Eagles scored what would be the game-winning goal at the 17:30 mark when Crystal Frates took a centering pass from Madden and beat HC keeper Sony Kuhn for the 1-0 lead.
Madden then tacked on a goal of her own with less than five minutes remaining in the game to give the Eagles an insurance goal. Boston College controlled most of the game, only allowing one Holy Cross shot on the day.
Kuhn made nine saves in the cage for the Crusaders, while BC keeper Jillian Savoy finished with one stop. The Eagles enjoyed a 14-1 shot advantage on the afternoon.
The Crusaders play host to Lehigh on Saturday, October 8 at 12:00 p.m., in Patriot League action. Holy Cross is 1-0 in conference play after yesterday's 3-1 win over Colgate.
