Field Hockey Drops 4-0 Decision To Boston College

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Boston College, 4-0, in the home-opener at the Hart Turf Field. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 0-3 on the season while the Eagles improve to 4-0.
Boston College's Bob Dirks scored the first of her two goals of the game, at the 21:03 mark, as Holy Cross senior goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) charged out of the circle. Dirks dodged around Singleton and scored in the left side of the goal.
With under a minute left in the half, Chelsey Feole made a pass inside the circle which was deflected by a defender. Dirks then took possession of the ball and scored for the Eagles.
Boston College put another goal on the board, at the 36:13 mark, as Emily Kozniuk scored on a penalty stroke. Just three minutes later, Kelley Smith tallied an unassisted goal off a penalty corner by the Eagles.
Singleton made eight saves for the Crusaders while Julia Berkowitz had one stop for Boston College.
Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, September 10, hosting Providence for a game scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
