Worcester, Mass. - Senior Emily Ewens' lone goal was enough to defeat Holy Cross, 1-0, in non-conference field hockey action Wednesday night at Hart Turf Field.
Ewens scored her second goal of the season ten minutes into the game to put the Friars ahead. Providence played solid defense to keep Holy Cross from scoring the rest of the game. The Crusaders totaled eight shots, but were unable to put one away.
Erin Singleton had four saves in goal for the Crusaders while Rachel Chamberlain had three saves to shut out Holy Cross.
Providence remains undefeated, 4-0 on the season and Holy Cross dropped their second game of the season giving them a 2-2 record.
The Crusaders travel to Northeastern Sunday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m.
