Holy Cross Field Hockey Falls At Harvard
Sept. 5, 2008
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard's Chloe Keating scored the only goal of the game with 17:25 remaining in the second half, to lead the Crimson to a 1-0 victory over the Holy Cross field hockey team at Jordan Field. The Crusaders fall to 0-2 on the season with the loss, while Harvard opens the year at 1-0.
Following a scoreless first half, the Crimson's Kristin Bannon sent a penalty corner in to Maggie McVeigh for the stick stop, and Francine Polet hit a shot toward the cage. Keating then tipped Polet's shot into the cage for the game-winning goal.
Senior goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) made two saves for Holy Cross, while allowing just one goal. Harvard goalkeeper Kylie Stone had four saves and posted a shutout.
The Crusaders return to action on Sunday, Sept. 7, when they play host to Boston College at 12:00 p.m.
