Kadi Sickel is in her first season as an assistant field hockey coach at the College of the Holy Cross in 2011. Sickel spent the last season as an assistant coach at Northeastern. She held recruiting responsibilities as well as maintaining team travel and scouting duties. The Huskies finished 2010 with a 10 wins and made it to the CAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. She spent the previous season as an assistant coach with Bryant. While at Bryant, Sickel helped lead a team that saw a five-win improvement from the previous year. The Bulldogs were in just their second season if Division I competition.
A former Division I athlete herself, Sickel was twice named an All-American by Women’sFieldHockey.com, also earning NFHCA first team regional All-America honors as a junior and a senior. She was a two-time second team All-Big Ten selection and was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team as a senior. Sickel started every game of her collegiate career at Iowa, totaling 16 goals and 12 assists in 81 contests. A 2007 Academic All-Big Ten selection, she graduated in 2008 with a degree in Theater.
Sickel has been a member of the New England High Performance team since 2008 and previously served as a coach in the US Field Hockey Futures program, Region 3A for Rhode Island and northeastern Connecticut. Before attending Iowa, Sickel was a member of the 2002 USA U16 team, joining the USA U21 team for the 2005-2007, including participation in the U21 National Team China Tour in 2007.
A native of Plaistow, N.H., Sickel has three siblings that also have Division I field hockey ties. Her twin sisters, Julie and Chelsea, both currently play field hockey at Kent State while her older sister, Lauren, is an assistant coach at Bryant.
