Maryette Stuart is in her first season as assistant field hockey coach for the Crusaders in 2012. She came to Holy Cross after spending one season as the assistant coach and facilities assistant at Siena. While with the Saints, she aided the field hockey program in every facet, including recruiting, game preparation and on-field coaching responsibilities. In her role as facilities assistant, Stuart was responsible for scheduling, maintenance and overseeing all indoor events in the school’s athletic complex while also serving as liaison between facilities and athletics.
A 2010 graduate of Boston University, Stuart was a midfielder for the Terriers’ field hockey team from 2006-2010 and captained the team her senior season. A four-time America East Academic Team selection, she helped the Terriers win three America East Championships and appeared in three NCAA Tournaments.
Since graduating, Stuart has worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Boston University’s Fitness and Recreation Center. Additionally, she served as a strength coach for the Boston English High School “Get Ready” program and spent the past two summers working for Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning.
During her time at Boston U., Stuart interned with Harvard’s strength and conditioning program and also served as a coach and instructor with several regional field hockey camps. Stuart earned both her bachelor’s degree in health science and her master’s degree in education from Boston University.
A native of Cumberland, Maine, Stuart captained Greely High and boosted them to consecutive league titles while earning All-State and NFHCA Regional All-America honors as a senior.
