Field Hockey Has Five Players Named to 2012 NFHCA Academic Squad

WORCESTER, Mass. – Five members of the Holy Cross field hockey team were selected to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The entire 2012 Holy Cross field hockey team earned the National Academic Team Award as well for the sixth straight season for achieving a team grade point average of over 3.0.

Senior Emily Allen (Lee, N.H), juniors Jess Dodakian (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Lindsay MacPhail (Goffstown, N.H.) and freshmen Michelle McNeil (Canton, Mass.) and Kaitlyn Murray (Farmington, Conn.) were all named to the academic squad after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2012-2013 academic year.

A total of 63 NCAA Division I field hockey teams had a team GPA of over 3.0 during the 2012 season, with Central Michigan University leading the pack with a 3.61 team GPA.
