WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and field hockey head coach Zowie Tucker have announced the 2012 schedule for the Crusaders. The slate includes 10 home contests on the Hart Turf Field.
The Crusaders will open up the season with a mid-morning home game versus Quinnipiac (Aug. 24). The squad then has their first away game against Harvard (Sept. 1) and quickly returns home for a match with Sacred Heart (Sept. 2). After a trip to Siena (Sept. 5), the team returns to the Hart Turf Field for three games against New Hampshire (Sept. 9), Providence (Sept. 11) and Maine (Sept. 15). Two road contests and one home game wraps up competition in September as the Crusaders go to Fairfield (Sept. 20), return to Worcester to play Dartmouth (Sept. 23) and open up Patriot League play at Lehigh (Sept. 29).
Holy Cross continues its conference schedule in October, starting with a home game against Bucknell (Oct. 6). The Crusaders then entertain Bryant (Oct. 9) before traveling to Washington, D.C. to take on American (Oct. 13). A conference game against Lafayette (Oct. 20) precedes a non-conference game with Brown (Oct. 24). Holy Cross takes on its last Patriot League competitor on the road at Colgate (Oct. 27) then concludes the regular season traveling to Ithaca, N.Y. to play Cornell (Oct. 28).
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 2-3 and will be held on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will advance to the conference tournament.
