WORCESTER, Mass. - On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Holy Cross field hockey program will host it's second-annual "Think Pink Day" at the Hart Turf Field during its Patriot League contest against Colgate at 12:00 p.m. The team will be donning special pink socks and shoe laces during the game for breast cancer awareness. Donations will also be accepted throughout the game for PINK revolution, an alliance of dedicated individuals with a unified commitment to those touched by breast cancer.
"We are honored to be part of raising awareness for such a good cause and support the many women who continue to fight against breast cancer," said head coach Zowie Tucker. "Their courage and perseverance motivates us all each day and we are truly inspired by those that surround us."
The event is a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, happening all over the country. The field hockey team's "Think Pink Day" is just one of the events being held on campus, as the volleyball team will also be hosting the "Pink for a Purpose" event at its matches versus Lehigh and Lafayette.
In addition, special "Holy Cross for a Cause" t-shirts will be on sale by the press box at the game. All proceeds, along with any donations made, will be sent to PINK revolution.
