Crusaders Look For League Win At Lafayette

- The Holy Cross field hockey team looks for its first road win of the season when it travels to Lafayette for Patriot League action on Saturday, Oct. 15. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. at Rappolt Field in Easton, Pa.
- The series between the Crusaders and Leopards began in 1990. Lafayette has a slight lead in the overall series, 14-13. Holy Cross has a 3-2 edge in the last five games and won a 2-1 decision the last time the teams met in Easton. The Crusaders have won the last five decisions against Lafayette on the road, dating back to a 2-1 overtime decision in 2001.
- Lafayette currently owns a record of 6-5 on the 2011 season and will play against Penn State at home on Oct. 11 before hosting the Crusaders. The Leopards are 2-0 so far in conference play and are 3-1 when playing at home. Junior Deanna DiCroce leads the team's offense with seven goals and three assists on the season. She ranks second in the Patriot League standings in points (17) and goals.
- Senior Kirsten Walther (Landenberg, Pa.) recorded her second defensive save against Bryant last week and now ranks fifth in the conference in that category. She now has three defensive saves in her career and leads the team in that category this season.
