WORCESTER, Mass. – Ten members of the Holy Cross field hockey team have been selected to the 2010 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including junior Kirsten Walther (Landenberg, Pa.) who topped the team with a 3.93 GPA during the fall semester and picks up the honor for the third-consecutive year.
The other nine members of the team named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll consist of seniors Breezy Rush (Denville, N.J.) and captain Alanna Sikorski (Glen Gardner, N.J.), juniors Jamie Caniglia (Wayne, Pa.) and Rachael Miers (Langhorne, Pa.), sophomores Emily Allen (Lee, N.H.), Courtney Downes (Hanover, N.J.) and Lizzie McManus (Havertown, Pa.) and freshmen Kelly Burke (Walpole, Mass.) and Lindsay MacPhail (Goffstown, N.H.).
A total of 78 student-athletes from field hockey teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. Patriot League champion American led all schools with 18 selections. To be eligible, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester.
