WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and associate athletic director Ann Zelesky have announced the 2010 schedule for the Crusaders. The slate includes eight home contests on the Hart Turf Field and two games versus teams that qualified for the 2009 NCAA Tournament (American and Boston College).
The Crusaders will start the season when they face Ivy League rival Harvard on the road (Sept. 4). The following day, Holy Cross will open the home portion of its schedule against Boston College (Sept. 5), who was ranked No. 9 in the NFHCA's 2009 final poll.
Holy Cross returns to the road for a contest at Siena (Sept. 9). After a two day break, the Crusaders will again hit the road to face Sacred Heart (Sept. 12). The Crusaders' weekend will be packed with two home games versus New Hampshire (Sept. 18) and Rider (Sept. 19). The Crusaders round out September at Fairfield (Sept. 24) and then travel to Hanover, N.H. to face Dartmouth (Sept. 26).
Holy Cross opens its conference schedule in October by hosting Patriot League runner-up Bucknell (Oct. 2). The Crusaders entertain Columbia (Oct. 3), then visit Bryant (Oct. 6) and take on defending Patriot League champion American (Oct. 9) in Washington, D.C. Holy Cross will then host Patriot League rival Lafayette (Oct. 16) and Ivy League member Yale (Oct. 17). After a week off, the Crusaders will travel to Hamilton, N.Y. to face Colgate (Oct. 23), and then finish the regular season with a home contest versus Brown (Oct. 26) and a trip to Bethlehem, Pa. to face conference rival Lehigh (Oct. 30).
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 6-7 and will be held on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will advance to the conference tournament.
