Six Field Hockey Players Named To Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. - Six members of the Holy Cross field hockey team have been selected to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including sophomore Kirsten Walther (Landenberg, Pa.) who topped the team with a 3.78 GPA during the fall semester and picks up the honor for the second-consecutive year.
The other five members of the team named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll consist of seniors Katie Aylward (Watertown, Mass.), 2009 team captain Kaitlyn Barnes (Honesdale, Pa.) and Kelly Casey (New Egypt, N.J.) as well as sophomores Jamie Caniglia (Wayne, Pa.) and Amanda McGavick (Sudbury, Mass.).
A total of 74 student-athletes from field hockey teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be a member of the school's team in one of the seven Patriot League-sponsored fall championship sports.
