Holy Cross Field Hockey Falls To Bryant, 1-0
WORCESTER,
Mass. - Bryant's Emily Charpentier recorded the only goal
of the game and Kundayi Mawema made seven saves as the Bulldogs
shut out the Holy Cross field hockey team, 1-0, at the Hart Turf
Field Wednesday afternoon. With the loss the Crusaders drop to 2-8
while the Bulldogs improve to 3-6.
Charpentier's tally came 7:56 into the game when she took the
second pass off a penalty corner and shot it into the right side of
the cage from the top of the circle. Bryant controlled possession
for most of the rest of the first half and finished with a 6-5 edge
in shots. Mawema made three saves in the first half while senior
Kelly Casey (New Egypt, N.J.) had one stop for

The Crusaders controlled the play during most of the second half
but were unable to score. Their best chance to tie came late in the
game off a deflection in the circle by senior Nora Happny
(Portsmouth, N.H.), but the ball slipped wide.

Courtney Callahan (Acton, Mass.) leading the
Crusaders with five. Elise Boissoneau topped the Bulldogs with
three. Casey finished with three saves.
