Briana McFadden Named Patriot League Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Briana McFadden (Wheaton, Md.) has been named the women's basketball Patriot League Player of the Week, for competition from Nov. 25-30. McFadden led the Crusaders to a triple overtime victory against Missouri scoring a career high 31 points on Saturday, Nov. 29, in the Mildred & Roger L. White Invitational, hosted by Northwestern.

In the third overtime period, McFadden scored all nine Holy Cross points including the game-winning basket with eight seconds remaining to give the Crusaders the 94-93 victory against Missouri. In addition to her 31 points, she tallied three assists, three steals and two rebounds.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, McFadden scored 20 points and had three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the 64-55 loss to Western Illinois. Earlier in the week, against St. Peter's, McFadden finished with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3, traveling to No. 1 Connecticut for a 7:30 p.m. game.
