WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., has announced the broadcast schedule for Crusader men's and women's basketball for the 2008-2009 season. The teams will have 38 regular season games broadcast this year by The Pike, WWFX 100.1 FM, the Crusaders' new radio home this year. Additional games will be broadcast directly to the internet, through www.SportsJuice.com. Games aired on The Pike can also be heard over the internet at www.WorcesterPike.com.
Broadcasting duties will once again be handled by Holy Cross Hall of Famer Bob Fouracre, now in his 22nd year of calling Crusader games on the radio. Jeremy Lechan and Dick Lutsk will also return to the Holy Cross broadcasting team this year, sharing the microphone with Fouracre on a number of games and handing the play-by-play duties themselves at others.
The men's and women's basketball teams will combine to have 38 games on The Pike, beginning with the men's season opener against Sacred Heart on Nov. 14. The first women's contest on The Pike will be the Nov. 18 game against Boston College. In addition, 19 games will be broadcast directly to the internet on www.SportsJuice.com.
The broadcast schedule for the Patriot League tournament will be announced when pairings and schedules are finalized.
The Pike is a classic hits station, owned by Citadel Broadcasting. Known as "Worcester's #1 for Classic Hits," The Pike is the home of the New England Patriots, and Holy Cross football and basketball.
