Bethany O'Dell Named Patriot League Rookie Of The Year

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Holy Cross freshman guard Bethany O'Dell (Lincoln, R.I.) has been named the 2006-2007 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league at the women's basketball tournament banquet on Friday night.
Earlier this week O'Dell was named to the All-Patriot League second team and the Patriot League All-Rookie team. She leads the conference in three-point field goals made, ranks fourth in three-point field goal percentage and is 10th in assists and scoring. O'Dell leads the Crusaders with a .407 three-point field goal percentage (72 of 177) and is second on the team averaging 11.8 points per game. She scored a season-high 24 points three times, the last against Navy (Feb. 13), handed out a season-high seven assists and had a season-high six steals against Lehigh (Jan. 27). This season, O'Dell was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week six times.
The three other major awards all went to members of the Bucknell basketball team which included Player of the Year Hope Foster, Defensive Player of the Kesha Champion and Coach of the Year Kathy Fedorjaka.
The third-seeded Crusaders will face sixth-seeded Lafayette in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament on Saturday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m. The game will be played at Alumni Hall on the campus of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
