WORCHESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior guard Briana McFadden (Wheaton, Md.) has been named the women's basketball Baden Patriot League Player of the Week, for competition from Feb. 2-8. McFadden led the Crusaders with 26 points as the Crusaders picked up an 82-64 league victory over Lafayette at the Hart Center on Saturday, Feb. 7. This is the third player of the week honor McFadden has received in her career.
Making 8-of-9 attempts, including a perfect-5-for-5 from three-point range, McFadden also finished with four rebounds and two assists as the Crusaders picked up their fifth Patriot League win of the season, sweeping the regular season series against Lafayette. The victory also marked the fifth game this season that McFadden had scored 20 points or more. McFadden leads the league in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game and also ranks second in minutes played (37.4) and fourth in free throw percentage (.825). For Holy Cross, she ranks first in scoring, rebounds (4.7) and assists (2.4) as well as second on the team in steals (1.3).
Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 11, starting a three-game road trip with a Patriot League contest at Army at 7:00 p.m.
