Lindsay Shade enters her second season as assistant women's basketball coach at Holy Cross.
Shade comes to Holy Cross after spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburgh. Her primary responsibility was as the team's video coordinator, organizing and operating film exchange, as well as editing game highlights and creating scout tapes of the Panthers' opponents. Shade was also responsible for creating recruiting mail-outs, campus tours, and various other aspects of the program, while serving as Commissioner during the team's summer camps.
Prior to her time at Pitt, Shade was a four-year letterwinner on the women's basketball team at Davidson College in North Carolina from 2000-2004. Shade, who received the team's 110% Award her senior season, entered the program as a walk-on her freshman year and earned a scholarship by her junior season. She led the Southern Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio as a junior and finished the season ranked second in the conference in the same category as a senior.
In 2004, Shade played on a Summer Tour team that traveled to Poland. While in Europe, Shade had the opportunity to minister to and share daily devotionals with the Polish National Team, as well as participate in basketball clinics the team held for local children.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Shade spent one year as the head coach of the 13U girls' AAU team at the Marist School in Atlanta, spent two years as a volunteer at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Girls' Sports Camp in Black Mountain, N.C., and most recently volunteered as the head coach of the fourth grade girls' basketball team at the Sacred Heart Elementary School in Pittsburgh.
Shade is currently in the final stages of completing her requirements for a master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Pittsburgh. She earned a degree in Economics from Davidson in 2004.
