As graduation nears, the athletes of the class of 2014, including senior women's basketball player Alex Smith (Delran, N.J.), look back on their time on the hill and look ahead to what's in store for the future. Smith, who captained the Crusaders during her junior and senior seasons, played in a school record 127 games with 1,644 points, 568 assists and 455 rebounds in her career. She is the only Crusader ever to accumulate those numbers, as she also set the Patriot League record with 349 career made three-pointers. Smith was named first team All-Patriot League three times in her career.
The guard is both a student of the game and of the classroom, as she named to the Academic All-Patriot League team twice in her career. This season, she was a candidate for both the Senior CLASS Award and the WBCA Good Works Team. Smith was also a three-year member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy.
The Psychology major recently sat down with GoHolyCross.com's Emily Correia to talk about her four years on the hill and on the court.
