WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross women's basketball sophomore forward Raquel Scott (Ridgewood, N.J.) has been named Patriot League Anaconda Sports Player of the Week for competition from Nov. 25 to Dec. 1. This is the first weekly award for any Crusader this season and the first of Scott's career.
Scott had a great week for Holy Cross and helped lead the squad to a pair of wins over Massachusetts (Nov. 26) and Manhattan (Dec. 1). For the week, she averaged a double-double with 18.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, to go along with 4.5 assists per contest. She connected on 56.7 percent of her shots from the floor (17 of 30) and totaled a pair of steals in two starts. Against the Minutewomen, Scott recorded her second career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Versus Manhattan, she notched her second consecutive double-double with game-highs of 15 points and 13 caroms.
This season, Scott has averages of 16.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest. She ranks first in the Patriot League in rebounding, fourth in scoring and seventh in assists, while also holding the second best field-goal percentage in the conference at 60.4 percent. Over her two-year career, Scott has totaled 203 points, 207 rebounds and 53 assists.
Holy Cross (5-0) returns to action on Wednesday, December 4, when it will entertain Northeastern at the Hart Center for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
