WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Brisje Malone (Springfield, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 21-27. Malone averaged 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last week, while helping the Holy Cross women's basketball team to a 1-1 record.
During Wednesday night's 60-55 victory over Lafayette, Malone totaled 14 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Five of her points against the Leopards came in the final seven minutes of the contest, as the Crusaders rallied from nine points down to earn the win. Then in Saturday's narrow 62-59 loss at Bucknell, Malone tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, six assist and three steals.
On the season, Malone is now averaging 9.6 points, 4.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has totaled 679 points, 306 rebounds, 263 assists and 115 steals.
Holy Cross (9-11 overall, 1-4 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when it travels to Army for a 7:00 p.m. game.
