Malone Named College Sports Madness' Patriot League Player Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior guard Brisje Malone (Springfield, Mass.) was named Patriot League Player of the Week by College Sports Madness, for the week ending on Nov. 12. Malone scored 23 points to help lead the Crusaders to an 87-71 triumph over Yale on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Hart Center.
Along with the 23 points, Malone also had four steals, three assists and a pair of rebounds. The points mark was a career-best for Malone, while she was one swipe shy of tying her collegiate-best. With the win over Yale, Holy Cross ended its four-game losing streak against the Bulldogs and its three-game losing streak in home openers. The 87 points scored was the most by a Holy Cross team in a season opener since the 1988-89 season in which the Crusaders defeated Rhode Island, 87-68.
Holy Cross will return to action on Tuesday, November 13, as it will host rival Boston College at 7:00 p.m. in the Hart Center.
