WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior forward Amy Lepley (Norfolk, Mass.) has been named the Anaconda Patriot League Rookie of the Week after boosting the Crusaders to a 2-0 record in crucial league play last week. She averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game and hit 50 percent of her shots from the field.
Leading the team in scoring on the week, Lepley was one of three Crusaders to notch a double-figure outing in the first game against Lafayette, scoring 11 points while bringing down a team-best eight rebounds. She also tallied a season-high three steals. Her versatility continued in the game against Bucknell as she posted 20 of the squad's 49 points, adding seven rebounds, three steals and a season-high two blocks. She also went nine-of-13 from the field against the Bison (69.2 percent).
On the season, Lepley leads the Crusaders both offensively and defensively with 13.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. She shoots a team-best 50.3 percent of her shots, ranking in the top-50 nationally. In her career she has scored 862 points, recorded 461 rebounds and 175 assists.
Holy Cross completes the 2011-2012 regular season when it hosts Colgate for Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Hart Center.
