WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore guard Alex Smith (Delran, N.J.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 21-27. Smith helped lead the Holy Cross women's basketball team to a 2-0 record in a pair of games last week.
During Tuesday's 76-64 victory over Massachusetts, Smith totaled 14 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals. She then had 22 points, a career-high 11 assists and four rebounds in Sunday's 73-68 win at Harvard. Over the course of the two games, Smith averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals, while hitting 42.9 percent (six of 14) of her three-point field goal attempts.
On the season, Smith is averaging 12.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has now totaled 397 points, 131 assists, 129 rebounds and 56 steals.
Holy Cross (3-3 overall) returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 30, when it travels to Central Connecticut for a 7:00 p.m. game.
