WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman forward/guard Amy Lepley (Norfolk, Mass.) has been named the Anaconda Patriot League Rookie of the Week after her career-best 12-point performance against New Hampshire on Sunday, Dec. 20. She was 4-of-7 from the field, including a 2-for-3 effort beyond the three-point line.
In 11 contests so far this season, Lepley has earned a starting spot four times, including Sunday's game against New Hampshire. She tied her season-high of four assists while also notching three rebounds, a block and a steal against the Wildcats. Her two three-point shots were also a season-high.
Lepley is within the team's top five in all scoring categories including points (47) and scoring average (4.3) thus far. She ranks third on the team with a 36.0 field goal percentage and second with a 38.5 three-point field goal percentage. She is also third on the team in steals (13) and blocked shots (3). She has increasingly become the team's most versatile player so far this season. Her 12-points against New Hampshire were her second double-digit scoring game as she also has at least one rebound in the last 10 contests.
Holy Cross will enjoy the holiday week off before traveling to West Long Branch, N.J. to play in the Hawk Holiday Classic, hosted by Monmouth. The Crusaders play La Salle in the first day of action, Dec. 29, with tip time set for 4:00 p.m.
